OUR HISTORY
WHO ARE WE?
The Haven Project is a faith based welfare organisation, working to bring Hope, Aid, Vision, Education and New life to the people of South East Asia.
WHAT DO WE DO?
The Haven Project provides compassion and justice works, utilising a holistic approach, focusing on providing for the practical, emotional and spiritual needs for the people we serve.
WHERE DID WE COME FROM?
The Haven Project was founded in 1996 out of necessity to provide the people of Thailand with much needed assistance, and has now stretched over many nations of South East Asia. Originally launching as Global Care, the Haven Project came from the humble beginnings of faithful national and international volunteers who would travel to remote villages to provide free mobile medical clinics to those in desperate need.
In 1999, the first Haven Children’s Home was launched when two children were dropped off to a Pastor in a Lahu Village in northern Thailand as their families could no longer care for them due to poverty. The amount of children needing care, love and nurturing becoming overwhelmingly evident. The Haven Project has seen over 50 children brought into our homes, raised with a future and a hope, and continues to provide quality nurturing and care for children in need due to the effects of death, substance abuse, violence and physical / sexual / emotional abuse.
At the Haven Project we love to share our vision and work with others. You can be a part of this vibrant ministry. Volunteers can apply to come for between one week to three months, and teams can apply for either all or some of their time overseas.
